Long-billed Dowitcher

Montlake Fill, Seattle, Washington, USA
Taken with Kowa TSN-4 77mm spotting scope with Nikon Coolpix 995
The Short-billed Dowitcher, in front, is more spotted at the base of the neck and the upper flanks while the Long-billed, behind, is more barred. Although not 100% reliable this gives a way of telling the species apart on Autumn.
